I’ll be in Toronto on September 24 to moderate a conversation between Bob Carnie and Canadian/Australian printmaker Kim Sinclair about the current state of photographic printmaking and the intersection of historic processes with contemporary digital methods.
The conversation grows out of Alternative Stories, an ongoing Canadian/Australian exchange exploring alternative photographic processes and how these historic methods continue to evolve within contemporary photographic practice.
I’m especially looking forward to this conversation. I learned gum bichromate over palladium from Bob, and his generosity in sharing his knowledge and experience has had an important influence on my own printmaking. I’m pleased to be facilitating a conversation between Bob and Kim and hearing their perspectives on where photographic printmaking is heading.
